What We Believe

What the Bible says, God says:  It is the very Word of God. It is inspired by the Holy Spirit and true in everything it says. It is the final authority in all questions of faith and life. “The Scripture cannot be broken”. John 10:35.

That there is one God existing in three persons – the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Matthew 28:19

The Lord Jesus Christ, is truly human and truly God. Colossians 2:9

That all humanity is sinful and because of this, is separated from the Holy God. Romans 3:23

That Jesus Christ is the one and only Saviour for humankind. In His suffering and death on the cross of Calvary He paid the penalty for our sins and purchased for us a place in heaven. “He bore our sins in His own body on the tree”. 1 Peter 2:24

The present ministry of the Holy Spirit who inspired the writing of the Bible, who is the sole cause of regeneration, and by whose indwelling presence. “The Christian is enabled to live a godly life. The Holy Spirit is the third Person of the Godhead and He dwells in the heart of every true believer”. Galatians 4:6

That immediately upon death the souls of all people go to their eternal destination in either heaven or hell. The saved will be raised to a glorious life in heaven, and the lost to eternal misery in hell. “There will be a resurrection of the dead both of the just and the unjust”. Acts 24:15

The two ordinances of the Lord Jesus Christ, namely; Baptism and the Lord’s Supper:  Baptism being the immersion of a Christian upon the profession of their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; the Lord’s Supper to remember Christ, until he returns, of the sacrifice of His body and blood. Romans 6:4

That the Christian life means leading godly lives in gratitude for the free and unmerited gift which Jesus purchased on the cross. We turn away from sins because we love Him. We practice holy living because we love Him. We serve one another because we love Him. And we seek to serve Him well until He returns … simply because we love Him.  “This is love, that we walk according to His commandments”.  2 John 1:6
